Maggie Leininger

Peripheries is a large mobile site specific work that incorporates over 1,000 hand crocheted daisies all chained together.  The impetus behind this work lies in my interest in sociological structures, systems, networks and growth.  This large crocheted network is displayed at urban areas that concurrently host residential and industrial areas some of which are still functional and others that have disintegrated.  Further documentation of this mobile site specific work will resume later in 2010 and will include various cities throughout the country.
